Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 August 2026

Sinyali is a community safety app operated by Dotrea. It lets people report what is happening around them — accidents, fires, hazards, outages — so that others nearby are warned. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and what control you have.

Sinyali is not an emergency service. We do not contact the police, ambulance or fire services on your behalf. In an emergency, call your national emergency number directly — the app lists those numbers for your country.

1. Who we are

The data controller is Dotrea. You can reach us at dotreacom@gmail.com or through dotrea.com for any question about this policy or about your data.

2. What we collect, and why

Device notification tokenTo deliver push alerts about reports near you. When you allow notifications.

We do not collect contacts, browsing history, advertising identifiers, health data or payment details. Sinyali contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

3. Who can see what

Other users of the app

When you publish a report, the following becomes visible to other signed-in users nearby: your display name, your profile photo, your reputation score, the report text, any media you attached, the risk level, and the report's location.

Your phone number

Your phone number is not shown on your reports. It becomes visible to another user only when you ask them for a call back, or accept their request for one — that is, only through an action you take deliberately.

Response centres

Police stations, ambulance services and civil protection units may be given a regional dashboard by Dotrea. A centre can see the reports inside its coverage area, together with the reporter's name and phone number, so that it can follow up on a report. This is the point of the app: a report that no one can act on helps no one.

Nobody else

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers or any third party for their own purposes. We disclose data outside the app only where we are legally required to, or where it is strictly necessary to protect someone's life or safety.

4. Where your data is stored

Sinyali runs on Supabase (database, storage and authentication), hosted in the European Union (eu-west-1), and uses Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications. Both act as processors on our behalf. All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS.

5. How long we keep it

6. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time, from inside the app: Profile → Delete my account. Full details are on our account deletion page.

When you delete your account, we permanently delete your login, your display name, your profile photo, your email address and your phone number. Your existing reports stay on the map without your name, shown as “Deleted user” — a hazard reported an hour ago should not disappear because the reporter closed their account. Nothing in those reports links back to you.

If you would rather have your reports removed as well, email us at dotreacom@gmail.com before deleting your account and we will remove them for you.

7. Your rights

You can access, correct, export or erase your personal data, object to how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Most of this is available directly in the app (Profile). For anything else, write to dotreacom@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

You may also revoke the location, camera, microphone and notification permissions at any time in your device settings. Sinyali will keep working, but the features that depend on them will not.

8. Children

Sinyali is not intended for people under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Access to reports and profiles is restricted at the database level, so the app can only read what your account is entitled to see. Passwords are hashed and never stored in readable form. No system is perfect: if we ever become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and the relevant authority.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify you in the app. Continuing to use Sinyali after a change means you accept the updated policy.
